We are currently in the process of expanding Hideaway Park by 9 lots.
- April 25, 2024 The plumbing is finished. The well house arrived yesterday. We still must wire the well house, install the bladder tanks between the well and park plumbing infrastructure, and get Duke Energy to install power in the expansion area. Our first tiny home in the expansion area should arrive late next week. We’ll hustle to get it piered and pinned, and hooked up to utilities. We will be skirting it with stone panels. The big item we are waiting for is Duke Energy to come to the expansion area.
- March 8, 2024 Wow! On December 22 I thought the plumbing would be done the next day. It is now March 8 and still not done but it is mostly functional except for one leak, which is being fixed. I poured the slabs for the well house and the cluster mailboxes. Cluster mailboxes should be installed the week of March 18. I ordered a pre-built well house and it should arrive ~April 12. Once the well house is in, we’ll install the bladder tanks on the well, and connect the well to the infrastructure plumbing that goes to each lot. Another important step is to have Duke power install a distribution box in the expansion area. I’m working with their engineer now and their distribution box instsall could take a few more months. The excavator team will return to install some conduit for Duke’s cabling under the roads, apply the final layer of ballast and crush and run on the roads, and burn the brush pile. Once that is done the park will be inhabitable but not quite beautiful. I’ll start iterating soon on the landscaping soon to get the expansion area to a beautiful status. The expansion area has all been seeded, and now I’m waiting for it to grow.
Spectrum is shooting to have their 1Gbps fiber internet in the expansion area by the end of March. They are already in the old part of the park and it works great over there. - December 22, 2023 The underground plumbing infrastructure should be finished today. This includes the water supply lines to each lot and the septic drain lines from each lot. Once this is done, next steps include Duke power and a well house.
- November 9, 2023 We got addresses assigned to all the lots. We are now taking reservations for the lots. One is reserved so far. Here are the addresses.

- October 9, 2023 We have the septic system and new well in. Now we are working on the underground plumbing infrastructure which will include water supply lines from the well to each cabin lot and septic collector lines from each lot to the septic system.
